Unexcelled Fire Company

OPERATIONS

The Unexcelled Fire Company answers approximately 500 calls for service per year (fire only - no EMS). Our active firefighting staff consists of approximately 20 active firefighters who respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 a year.

Our response area is the southeastern section of Neptune, which borders the City of Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach Borough, Avon-By-The-Sea Borough, Neptune City, and Belmar Borough.

Our routine response is 1 and 1 within our response area and Station 34-2's response area (dual dispatch) - Engine 34-4-75 and Ladder 34-4-90. When responding on a general alarm or 2nd alarm outside of our response area (north, west and in Shark River Hills), we respond with Ladder 34-4-90 first out of the station.

Our Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.) has been "in service" since 1997. Certified members have worked hard to develop an excellent reputation - having responded to numerous incidents, including Colts Neck Township, Eatontown Borough, City of Long Branch, Wall Township, City of Asbury Park, and others. In 2005 the R.I.T. was certified by the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office as a Level-2 F.A.S.T. Team - the first "out of Ocean County" team to receive that certification.

FIREHOUSE - STATION 34-4

The Unexcelled Firehouse is located at 1120 Corlies Avenue in Neptune, NJ. Housed within our bays is an Engine and a Ladder. Our second floor consists of two offices, a meeting room and classroom, bunk room, shower and rest room. The first floor has a kitchen and large table, housewatch, three storage lockers, a members "day room", and a storage and weight room.
