FIREFIGHTER RESCUE NIGHT (THE FOURTH MONDAY OF EACH MONTH)

How this got started: In October 2003 while operating at a structural fire, an Unexcelled firefighter fell through the floor of the single family private dwelling. Several firefighters came to his aid and he was safely removed. We felt very strongly that every firefighter should be taught how to rescue fellow firefighters and rescue themselves.

Our Training: The Unexcelled Fire Company has been (and continues to attend) basic and advanced firefighter rescue and safety & survival courses since 1997. Most of this training has come from FDNY Rescue firefighters with vast experience and knowledge.

Our Mission: To provide firefighter rescue training to ALL members of the fire department. So many times, this training is restricted to more experience firefighters, but the reality is that ALL members should learn firefighter rescue techniques.

Question? If your partner goes down in a fire, will you be able to get them out by yourself? In todays fire service, your back-up may be 5, 10, 15 minutes away. 5 minutes is a long time and if you cannot get your partner out immediately. This may be the difference between them living or dying! Think about it.

Firefighter Rescue Training is no joke. EVERY firefighter should learn the various techniques that may make the difference.
